报告简介:

Many cues could help us remember a new route such as the one from home to a newly opened restaurant. We could remember our bodys sequential movements (e.g., turn left and then turn right), using an egocentric response strategy. We could remember landmarks (e.g., a red tower near the destination), using an allocentric landmark strategy. We could also use metric information (e.g., two blocks; three miles), employing an allocentric metric strategy. These three strategies represent the most common ways that we engage in spatial learning. This project examined two research questions. First, how do spatial strategies develop in middle childhood? Second, how well do adults utilize metric strategy? Our study indicated more sophisticated usages of spatial strategies with age. Nevertheless, metric strategy is still what most participants have struggled with, sometimes even for young adults.
