报告简介:

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a perplexing but common and highly disabling clinical condition with a chronic course if left untreated. While effective treatments exist for OCD (inclusive of pharmacological, psychological and technology-based interventions), the efficacy and effectiveness of treatments needs to improve and access to evidence-based treatments is variable. Of the psychological treatments, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) has been shown to be the most effective treatment option, but access to CBT is not always possible. Over the years, our research laboratories have tried to further our understanding of OCD in order to improve treatment strategies and outcomes. We have examined behavioral, cognitive and neurocognitive factors, developmental prequelae and self constructs in OCD. Furthermore, we have examined ways in which to improve access to CBT, in particular through digital means. We have used experimental, survey-based and brain imaging research paradigms. The talk will give an overview of our research findings and their clinical implications.
